Sept 2018- We held our 2nd conformation sanction match, with Todd Foley as judge. He awarded a lovely Miniature Schnauzer as Best in Match!

June 2017- We held our very first CKC Sanction Match conformation show, in the pouring rain! It was quite successful though! Many thanks to those who came out to support us!

January 2017- A number of our exec and members attended a ring steward seminar hosted by our CKC Zone Director. We're now prepared to hold conformation matches! Additionally, our club president has been made Zone 1 Lure Coursing Council rep, the first one every from our area!

December 2016- We did it!! We're now a CKC approved club! It's been a long road, but we made it! Now we need to hold our sanction matches for both field trials and conformation shows, and we're set!

September 2016- Wow! A lot has happened since we updated the news section! We've had members attend another set of OLCA trials, and had two whippets become certified. We've picked up another machine, and now have two. We've been holding semi-regular practises, simple straights and ice cream cone designs.

The biggest news is that we submitted our application to the Canadian Kennel Club and are almost finished the approval process to be an accredited club! We should know our fate by Christmas, hopefully!

September 2015- Practise #1 is under our belt!! It was 'problem solving day', where we learned the value of a mowed field (grass too long = too much drag and lures out of sight/dogs losing lure). Batteries needing more charge/hooking running truck to jumper cables to power it up more.
Machine going into psycho mode, and now how to fix that (stuck solenoid = bang with hammer).

Thank you SO SO MUCH to everyone who came out! Thank you to the folks who walked the field to find the pulleys that we 'lost'. And thank you to everyone for being patient, and keeping smiles on their faces. You are all each appreciated so very much!

We're working out dates for the next try!

August 2015- We connected the machine, and gave it a run! IT WORKS!! We had a small setback with our pulleys, but thanks to Pat Ingram of the Foothills Gazehound Club, we ran a successful Adopt A Pulley program and they'll arrive next week! Our very first club practise course will be run at the lovely Aqua Terra Kennels in Upper Stewiacke, NS.

July 2015- We've finally been able to secure, order and have shipped the last our equipment requirements! They should be arriving in the next week, and once here, we'll start holding practise sessions for club members. Eventually, we'll have an all breed fun run!

May 2014- Two members travelled to Ontario to attend OLCA's field trials in Ancaster, Ontario. They picked up the machine and tried to absorb as much knowledge as possible. One of their dogs, an off track greyhound, was certified to run in field trials, finishing with a nice third place finish.

February 2014- We attended the Dog Expo at the Metro Centre in Halifax, and did a fun day of 'Meet the Breeds!' A lot of interested folks stopped by, hopefully we'll get to see them out to an event when we're up and running!
